Best Budget Power Stations Under $300

Three real, in-stock LiFePO4 power stations we checked on Amazon before writing a word about them — plus what a 300W budget unit actually can and can't do, so you know before you buy, not after.

How we researched this

Budget power stations are where spec sheets and real listings drift apart fastest — models get discontinued, prices swing 40% in a week, and "under $300" units quietly creep past it. So before writing anything here, we pulled the live Amazon listing for every unit below and checked the current price, in-stock status, and rating directly. We also cross-referenced independent field testing (cold-weather runtime, real appliance loads) rather than relying on manufacturer marketing copy alone. Prices shown were accurate at the time of writing and will drift — click through for the current number.

What "under $300" actually gets you

Almost every power station under $300 lands in the same rough tier: 240-290Wh of LiFePO4 capacity and 300W continuous output (600W surge). That's enough to charge phones and a laptop for days, run LED lighting for a full evening, keep a CPAP running overnight, or power a router and modem through a short outage. It is not enough to run a full-size refrigerator for more than a few hours, a space heater, or power tools — those need the 1,000W+ continuous output tier, which starts well above $300. If a fridge is your actual goal, our fridge-specific sizing guide walks through the real math on what that takes.

One honest note before the picks: prices in this category move fast. Jackery's entry-level Explorer 300 currently lists above $300 on Amazon as of this writing, which is why it isn't in the picks below — a good unit, just not a budget one anymore at today's price. We'd rather leave a well-known name out than recommend something that doesn't actually meet the headline of this article.

Three we'd actually buy

All three are LiFePO4 (not the shorter-lived NMC chemistry — see our breakdown on lifespan if you want the full explanation), and all three were confirmed in stock at the price shown when we wrote this.

A few honest caveats

Budget units in this tier all share the same ceiling: 300W continuous output. That covers electronics and small loads comfortably but rules out anything with a real heating element or motor — space heaters, hair dryers, power tools, and full-size refrigerators are all out of range. If any of those are on your list, you're shopping the wrong capacity tier and should look at 1,000Wh+ units instead, which start well above this budget. It's also worth reading up on indoor charging safety if this will live somewhere enclosed — the short version is that LiFePO4 units are safe indoors, but placement and ventilation still matter.

Prices in this category are volatile — we saw meaningful swings just during the research for this piece. Always check the live price before buying rather than trusting the number in this article alone. If your budget stretches past $300, our full 2026 buying guide and flagship brand comparison cover the next tier up, where you get enough capacity to actually run a fridge or handle a multi-day outage.

The short version

Under $300 buys you a genuine LiFePO4 power station in the 250-290Wh, 300W range — great for phones, laptops, CPAPs, and short outages, not for a fridge or power tools. All three picks above were live and in stock on Amazon when we checked, at prices well under the $300 ceiling.
